Plum Lake Association beginnings.....

In the mid-1970s, a group of Plum Lake residents formed the Plum Lake Riparian Homeowners Association to represent lake property owners and to protect the lake's environment, water and habitat quality, and property values.

The Plum Lake Association, Inc. was incorporated in September of 1999 and filed with the State of Wisconsin.

The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, and, more specifically within these purposes:

1.  To preserve, maintain, and enhance the water quality, fish habitat, and ecological integrity of Plum Lake in Vilas County, Wisconsin for the benefit of the general public.

2.  To improve the safety of boaters and other recreational users of Plum Lake.

3.  To monitor the chemical, biological, and sociological status of Plum Lake and its watershed in order to promote and implement management strategies to maintain and enhance the ecological integrity and recreational value of the lake and its environs.

4.  To educate and inform public officials, landowners, and members of the general public on matters affecting the ecological integrity and recreational value of Plum Lake and its watershed, including planning, zoning, and other public policies, which support appropriate and sustainable patterns of development and land use in the lake's watershed.
